We’re going to go from to
 
 


take this cap from kwaf:


 


crop it. resize it to 100×100. next, go to filter – sharpen.
 
 


new adjustment layer – levels. input the following settings in the input slots at the top – 10, 1.74, 198. click okay.
 
 


new adjustment layer – brightness/contrast. up the contrast to +16. click okay.
 
 


new adjustment layer – gradient map – click the gradient that says black, white. click okay. set the layer to soft light – opacity 60%
 
 


new adjustment layer – curves but don’t insert any values. as soon as it pops up, just click okay. set the layer to soft light – opacity 80%
 
 


take this texture from [info]sanami276 and paste it to your icon. set the layer to color burn – opacity 75%.
 
 


flatten your image and you’re done. you can add text or more contrast if you want, but i didn’t for this one.
